ALRIGHT I have to admit I'm so so so excited about the upcoming event (sorry I wasn't really clear whether it's a 1-night event or a 2days-1night chalet thingy.) BUT ANYWAY do try to make it alright~! though I'm having some serious doubts whether you guys will pang sei. NO don't pang sei!!!!! COME COME COME!

OKAY.. so how's NS life? and busy ladies who are busy working - TAKE A BREAK, SIT BACK and RELAX. okay I'm taking my break now so I have lotsa time to spare! for the past 1 week I've been sleeping at like... 4 am cos' I went strolling at Labrador Park with a bunch of friends, making a din, disturbing the undead. seriously there's this one night when even animals got so upset with us.. a lizard jumped onto my hair and danced with my fingers when I tried to find out what's the unidentified object flickering around in my hair. Please note that bank transfers and meetup collections are reopened from now till 2nd Jan. For details on both payment methods, please refer to the previous posted details. As for those who might not be able to make it for the entire trip, I do hope you guys can (in the class spirit and Christmas) pay the sum in full prior to any decisions. Partly because the details are confirmed by everyone prior to booking, so expecting full turnout.

Right now, the fund stands at $132, I'm still short of $30 odd to return my mum for the booking, so please pay money in order to keep us in her good faith. She had helped us for loads of stuff, everyone knows, so let's return her this amount. Thanks in advance to those who will see and take action after reading this appeal.

As for the rest of the sum of the money, it will be channeled to funding the BBQs and other chalet related activities. Bikes will be rented through this fund if possible (in order to reduce the costs of the classmates renting bikes for all to ride).

Invitations for the BBQ will not be my responsibility but the class's as a whole. I believe it'll be hard to invite any teachers down since the days are inconvenient, but out of goodwill, do invite people to come down to join us.

Itinerary will not be planned for other than the BBQ, which is definitely going to be on the Sunday night (first night). For those who are working, do take time off to chill at this point of time. For your information, I'll be working too, and will be staying throughout the chalet and heading off for work in the morning from there.

Do spread the word for payment. It's becoming a hassle to run this chalet without the cooperation of the entire class. I'm the one running around to collect the money, and ultimately spend more in the process of planning. Please do not make it more difficult for me now than ever, with the new year coming and my new job starting soon. To those who are working, continue the hard work and I'll join ya soon=) To those looking for one, good luck!! And to those who aren't going to work, have fun!!

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of information for the Class Chalet, so here they are now.

Ok, basically, the costs would be about $15 per person, inclusive of the barbecue. I will be booking the Chalet by friday this week, and I do not have enough money to do the booking, so I need everyone's cooperation in following the procedures and pass me the amount needed to book the place for the upcoming event.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) Why have a class BBQ??

The model answer is to bond the class cohesively in this period of uptight and stressful situation, and to promote togetherness of the class regardless of what differences there is. Well, in other words, just for fun since we haven't had much outings together. =D

2) Why Wednesday?

Because it's the National Day's Eve, and we're all patriotic towards the nation, so we hold a BBQ on the day before.

Ok, it's cause a lot of people won't be able to make it on other days, and since we're already out on Wed (for sch), we can use it for relaxing and the rest of the week for self study etc!!

3) Why is the BBQ location?

It is at Parkview Mansions, Kang Sheng's place (that's me). In case you need directions, go to streetdirectory.com and search postal code 618645. How to get to my place is irrelevant, since there are buses from school, as well as the nearby MRT stations, and also since I'll be able to guide you here with a phone call (it's that easy)

4) Is a BBQ pit booked?

Good question. As of now, 8.53pm, it still isn't booked. But no worries, it won't be snatched that easily. I am going to book 2 BBQ pits, since it's free of charge. Just help me maintain the cleaniness of the place, if not the management will consume my $40 deposit.

6) What if it rains?

We'll do frequent weather checks. If it's bound to rain, BBQ will be cancelled entirely in cases of portable or open air BBQ. If BBQ area is sheltered (Sheltered as in still can cook, NOT INDOOR), we will proceed with the BBQ.

7) Can I do some self entertainment?

Don't see the reason why not.

8) Price per pax?

Tentatively, I'll be collecting $10 from each person, and I'll pay the excess back to everyone equally, or getting the extra money from you guys should we overspend. Those who can pay up please do so by tomorrow, 7th Aug, I'm broke to the verge of $11 left for next week.

9) Timing?

BBQ will commence at 6pm, but advance parties will be informed of time of arrival. Advance parties are to assist in marinating chicken as well as get the food from Sheng Siong. Others are welcomed to come to play at my house, or basketball at nearby basketball courts, or others.

10) Recommendations?

Yes, if you guys can, please bring along some potluck food, meaning chips and such. Spare clothing or a change of clothes to change into if you don't want to BBQ in school attire. Also, card games or such if you think you'll need them.

Installing Wife 1.0 Software

DISCRETION ADVISED WHEN UPGRADING!

Last year a friend of mine upgraded from Girlfriend 4.0 to Wife 1.0 and found that it's a memory hog leaving few system resources for other applications. He is also now noticing that Wife 1.0 is also spawning Child-Processes which are further consuming valuable resources. No mention of this particular phenomenon was included in the product documentation, though other users have informed me that this is to be expected due to the nature of the application.

Not only that, Wife 1.0 installs itself so that it is always launched at system initialization where it can monitor all other system activity. Some applications such as PokerNite 10.3, Bachelor Party 2.5, and Pubnite 7.0 are no longer able to run in the system at all, causing the system to lockup when launched (even though these apps worked fine before).

Wife 1.0 provides no installation options. Thus, the installation of undesired plug-ins such as Mother-in-law 55.8 and the Brother-in-law Beta is unavoidable. Also, system performance seems to diminish with each passing day.

Some features my friend would like to see in the upcoming Wife 2.0: A "Don't Remind Me Again" button. Minimize button. An install shield feature that allows Wife 2.0 to be installed with the option of uninstalling at any time without loss of cache and other system resources. An option to run the network driver in "promiscuous mode" which would allow the system's Hardware Probe feature to be much more useful. I myself wish I had decided to avoid all of the headaches associated with Wife 1.0 by sticking with Girlfriend 3.0. Even here, however, I had found many problems. Apparently you cannot install girlfriend 4.0 on top of Girlfriend 3.0. You must uninstall Girlfriend 3.0 first, otherwise the two versions of Girlfriend will have conflicts over shared use of the I/O port.

Other users have told me that this is a long-standing problem that I should have been aware of.
To make matters worse, the uninstall program for Girlfriend 3.0 doesn't work very well, leaving undesirable traces of the application in the system. Another identified problem is that all versions of Girlfriend continually popup annoying little messages about the advantages of upgrading to Wife 1.0.

********* BUG WARNING ***********

All users should be aware that Wife 1.0 has an undocumented bug. If you try to install Mistress 1.1 before uninstalling Wife 1.0, Wife 1.0 will delete MSMoney files before doing the uninstall itself. Then for some reason Mistress 1.1 won't install at all, claiming insufficient resources. To avoid the aforementioned bug, try installing Mistress 1.1 on a different system and never run any file transfer applications (such as Laplink) between the two systems.

Class Bond

since when is the last post on this class blog not about academics and updates on our school stuff. so here i am, posting some non-school related stuff out of fun..

well, i'm not a PhD in social science to give a lecture about class bond.
Now forget all you know about covalent bond, ionic bond and hydrogen bond. What i'm talking about here is class bond.

The english dictionary of class bond defines
class as
a group of students meeting regularly to study a subject under the guidance of a teacher: The class had arrived on time for the lecture.
bond as
something that binds, fastens, confines, or holds together.

Basically, the definition of the class bond i'm talking about is what the dictionary defines. something that binds, fastens, confines, or holds together.

I looked at 06s17?(max, evelyn, gabriel class) with envy because the girls join the guys to play soccer.. haha.. at least from the exterior, i can tell that they are rather bonded..

i'm not saying that we are not bonded.. mayb just not that close.

Don't regret when the day comes when we just got bonded and have to be seperated.. But still its better than never..
Remember some camp you went to, and got group together?
Which part of the camp did you and your group got 'HIGH'?
Let me give an example, JJ orientation camp. My OG group was rather scattered and not unite during the first few days.. We got together during the last 2nd day of the camp which is the kinetic warfare and the night games? and ya, we got really emo during our e-web..

Think back, did you ever wish that you got bonded faster as a group? enjoy the precious time..
I know this analogy does not hold true for a 'class' simply because, it is not a camp where we can enjoy ourself.

In a fast paced school life, we have to put ourself first before others.

Take a step back and think, do you and me want a jc memories where there are no highs and lows? nothing exciting you can tell your children.. haha i sounds a bit lame but ya.. the idea is there.

1) wear house tee tml (8aug, tue)

2) CSS carnival on 13th Aug, ~~sat~~ Sunday, all are welcome~
(venue: commonwealth secondary,
time: 9am to around 5pm)

3) everyone will be taking the GP test
(full eassy on globalisation) on Mon, 14th Aug

4) be in PE attire on Friday, since morning assembly, for mass voga display

5) chinese project due 11th aug, fri

6) jessica's birthday celebration after the ushering @ seoul garden =)

2) econs test on pubic goods on mon
3) gp test on globalisation on 11 or 14th aug
4) chinese zhuan ti zuo ye (project)
i) 3-4 ppl, grp work
ii) can do on places ie:china town, ppl eg: tan took seng, festivals eg: mooncake festival (if im not wrong, ask teacher again.. hohox)
iii) put it in a file, like pri/sec project works, with content pages etc

ok. firstly i must say that both kangsheng and lili have a point there. its undeniable.

but thoughts filled my mind when i read both entries. im against it.

many says that our class is not bonded. but ask yourself this : have you done anything to get our class bonded so far? most likely not. no one is doing anything at this point of time. so don't blame a single soul for not bonding to the class but to their own preferred bunch of people. the fact that the class is not bonded is because no one seems to give a damn about the class. honestly speaking, i see lili contributing the most to the class so far. how about the others? oppose me if you disagree.

secondly, how we respect a teacher is proportionate to how they respect us. i simply don't need a teacher who comes to class and post and leave when the bell rings. or even showing favourtism to anyone. its not that i need any teacher to spoon feed me but i need someone to guide me, not to light up a spark when im lost in the forest.

ask yourself this : what kind of a person are you? everyone has their preferred choice of friends whom they wish to make. its his/her right, we cant stop it. has everyone shown basic friendliness to each other in class? no. does everyone have good attitude? no. i admit i don't have a good attitude in the sense that jj is just not the place for me. im emotionally attached to my first 3mths school, and you know it. i couldn't be more concerned about the trivial stuffs in jj. i have a sucky attitude. be it you like it or not. but, others attitude stinks too. attitude which is meant to be condemned by everyone.

seriously, look yourself into the mirror before you act or you speak. i couldn't be bothered to do this to people who just don't deserve it. get rid of your pretentiousness and show us what you are made of. don't blame anyone for your current plight but yourself. how you feel as a part of the class is what you'hv contributed for the class.

jokes does help the class to relax and the teachers to join the fun with students. it should be mild, i agree. everyone had gone overboard with jokes. don't you agree?

im not doing this for the sake of myself being outcasted. and im not simply causing stirring up emotions. moreover, im not directing this at anyone. you know it best if you're at fault. i admit im at fault maybe most of the time.

im just trying to say that, people in the class have extreme character, good or bad. but, show everyone what you're made of. this makes us more willing to accept.

conclusion : be frank and be honest and know your limits but not acting like a bimbo/himbo who doesn't internalise. you may hate me after reading it, i don't care. accept me for who i am. if you hate me after reading it, be glad to know that i hate you too.

oh. its by andre. miss chew deserved to be respected.

although i cant express myself well, but 06s22, treasure what u have now. some people may not be well enough for u, may it be teachers or friends, but always remember that, u, urself are NOT perfect in their eyes.

personally, i strongly believes that, in life, we dont have to see everything too clearly. that'll only make life difficult for everyone. try to see the good side, the better side, the more positive side, the brighter side of life. like the chinese saying, ren yi shi, feng ping lang jing. tui yi bu, hai kuo tian kong. (忍一时，风平浪静。退一步，海阔天空） for when u step into society, there'll be even more thingys that u dont prefer and wont favour coming ur way.

we are all now young adults, but even kindergarden kids have more respect for their teachers than us. arent this something shameful? just like many have observed, ms chew's attitude towards our class has changed, dramatically over the few months. this is no secret if u compare her frowning and shouting in our class with happy smiling faces in other classes. i hope everyone can plays a part to mitigate the negative impressions of our class that have, no doubt, engraved deeply in several teachers minds.

it's still not too late, not yet.

i hate to say this, but before we push blames to other classes, do we see our own shadows in their misbehaviours?

also, have we ever nicely, enthusiastically, well-mannerly, orderly greet ms chew, mr chin, mr mathai etc as a class?

no.

have we been on time for all of our homeworks?

no.

have we sincerely apologise for our mistakes to teachers?

no.

have we ever say thank you to teachers after classes?

no.

have we ever say have a nice weekend to them?

no.

ppl, really treasure the two short years of JC life. make life easier for teachers, for us. if all we do are to irritate the teachers, they can wash their hands off our studies. one thing we may seem to forget, although teachers they are pressurised to produce good results of the students, even if they failed, they didnt lose much. we ARE the ones at the loss. we are the ones sitting for OUR exams. it's OUR certificates that will be stuck with us all our life. we are the one who maybe wasting time in JC if we suay suay failed to enter Uni. the teachers still continue with their teaching career.

dont abuse the PRIVILLAGE.

we are NOT consumers of the school.

we are lucky enough to have teachers willing to teach, and able to teach well.

wake up ppl.

change for the better.

dont think u, alone, isnt significant enough.

since every vote counts, thus every efforts counts.

I should have addressed this earlier, but holding it back till now.

I must say that the class is really getting poorer and poorer in terms of conduct. We didn't give the teachers the respect they deserved, and the neighbouring classes deserve.

I don't know about you guys, but I really felt out-of-the-class. I'm not being antisocial, and not that council work and others are taking too much of my time. It's just that sometimes what we're going isn't the right things, and things like playing poker in classrooms, vulgarities right in front of the teachers, shouting and running in the class where the connecting classroom is occupied with a teacher trying to give all he or she can to help the students in other classes.

We're not being very considerate here, and to an extent, we're really selfish. We really lack the sensitivity to give others a peace of mins and place to concentrate and study, and that we did not know where to stop after cracking jokes.

Jokes which went too far can hurt.
Speech which went too vulgar can annoy.
Noise which went too loud can frustrate.
Sensitivity which goes too low can anger.

What I'm trying to put across is that many of us lack the basics which were built up in secondary school, and definitely not showing the appreciation for the people around you. We don't appreciate Ms Chew by annoying her with constant strings of vulgarities, "continue to........". We don't appreciate the Mr Chin by not listening to him in class. That's not the way appreciation works.

I'm not flaming or directing this to anyone as an individual, because we're a class. My way of expressing worry and unhappiness is through blogging and also telling the person right off. I'm the type of people who dislikes talking and whispering behind my back. If you don't like what I just said or want to argue with me as to protect the class or yourself, find me and talk to me right in the face. I hate people who pretends there's no problems going on at the superficial level, and gossips amongst the class and others that I'm saying such negative comments about my own class.

I hope there's going to be a change effective in the class soon. My expectations are definitely not as high as what I expect in the council, but it's definitely not lower than how a normal class behaves in secondary school.

Heyos, i realise that many of the times, while passing messages, we usu dunno who to sms and how many to sms.. yet, in the end, some ppl didnt get the message at all! >.< so, i made this relay thingys with reference to the OGL's relay thingy.. anyway, it's a cycle.. =D hmm.. how about informing the whole class abt this asap? and we start using it from 1st aug?! okaes? okay!

hey ppl, i just realise that from ms chew's laptop, the font apparently look different from how it appears before my own computer screen.. so, pls tag to tell me how "abnormal" the classblog is, for example, the font looks different when using firefox, netscape and windows internet explorer?! (ps: i only have IE), and i'll try to find alternatives to the probs?! hahahax, im not well versed in html, so i might not be able to solve the probx..

hmm.. secondly, contribute any ideas of things like a class slogon? a common nick for msn messenger names/nicks? okaes? hmm..what comes to my mind ish "oh my tian".. lols.. mayb u all can come up with new ones?
